Boxee, Boxee, Boxee! iPad app, Watch Later bookmarklet and a new firmware for the Boxee Box!
All good things come in threes.
Today, Boxee announced not one, not two, but THREE surprises for their users. Who’s been waiting for a Boxee iPad app? I know I have. Also, a new Watch Later bookmarklet and new firmware for the Boxee Box (version 1.2).
So, what does Boxee for iPad do exactly?
Well, it’s five primary functions include: Friends, Watch Later, Featured, PC to iPad and my favorite – iPad to TV (aka Boxee Box). I won’t get into all of them here, but you can get more details on the Boxee website.
iPad to TV – Watching a video on your iPad and want it on the big screen? Send videos straight to your TV via a Boxee Box so everyone in your living room can enjoy. Now you can go back to playing Avadon or Angry Birds on the iPad while you watch
Boxee Box 1.2 will roll out over the next couple of days to all users, but of course if you are eager to update you can always do a manual update in Settings > System > Check for new version of Boxee. Updates include a new “Featured Apps” section, filtering premium sources in the library and improved HTML5 support in the Boxee Browser.
Boxee Bookmarklet – How many times have you started watching a video at work and wanted to save it for your big screen when you get home? I can say daily, and I’m sure most people will agree. The Boxee Bookmarklet makes it easy to bookmark those videos and watch them later at your convenience – on your iPad, PC or TV. Learn more, get set up and add the bookmarklet to all your devices here.
